Ultrasound and Radiography

The use of imaging, radiology or ultrasound, is helpful in diagnosing problems. Radiology produces 2 dimensional black and white images of bones, chest and abdominal organs. It is helpful to visualize fractures, hip dysplasia, pneumonia, foreign objects, intestinal blockages, kidney and bladder stones. Safety for your pet and our staff is assured with annual certification of our equipment and proper protective lead gear and lead lined walls. Ultrasound is a very useful tool that sends harmless waves through the body cavities. For ultrasounds, Dr. Beier partners with board certified internal medicine specialist, Dr. Kenny Arceneaux. Ultrasounds are most useful in diagnosing tumors, heart problems, liver, kidney, and pancreatic diseases. Anesthesia and sedation are generally unnecessary for radiology and ultrasound procedures.
